Project - Social Network Analysis

A primary goal of this project is to understand how IDPs construct and use social networks while living in displacement. We are also interested in how social networks belonging to IDPs and the local population may vary from one another.

In this study, the social network consists of the individuals and groups with whom an individual regularly interacts around livelihood. We asked IDPs and local population to identify the individuals who are most important to their lives and then we collected their demographic information as well as information about their function in the social network. We also asked about how they originally met and who knows one another in the network. From this information, we learned about the composition and uses of the social networks and have calculated some standard measures of network.
